"Midcentury Magnate" Single Blank Greeting Card

$5.00

The scene on this card is entitled “Midcentury Magnate.” I lived on a street in Phoenix, Arizona, that was developed in the mid-1940’s. Its charming little brick ranch houses are cozy and functional. In recent years, as the city has grown, some of these homes have started to disappear, transformed into boxy ultramodern estates due to the large lot sizes and desirable proximity to everything in the city. Such is life, and progress, I suppose, but I am glad that at least one vestige of this neighborhood’s midcentury charm seems have been spared – the Mexican fan palms that line the street. They tower around sixty feet overhead, rising up every twenty feet or so. In reading about these looming lovelies, I learned that they can grow to 100 feet and live for 500 years. Here’s a toast to 420 more years!

The painting on this card was juried into an exhibition of Arizona Watercolor Association artists that was displayed at the Phoenix Airport Museum in Sky Harbor International Airport.

Card measures 4.25x5.5" and is blank on the inside, ready for your own personal message. It has a short statement about the painting printed on the back. The card has been professionally printed on high-quality 80 lb. art paper with a subtle texture similar to cold-pressed watercolor paper. This paper is acid-free for greater longevity, but please take care to protect it from light, heat and humidity. Eggshell envelope is included and card will arrive packaged in a clear plastic sleeve.
