Part of Crystal Cove State Park, El Moro Canyon offers a different experience from the typical sand and surf. Located across the Pacific Coast Highway, this slice of wilderness provides an opportunity to see rolling hills, native plants and animals, and find a little more solitude than is afforded along the coastline. You never know what coastal weather will bring, and this particular day started sunny and ended with complete cloud cover. This scene captures the clouds rolling in, as well as the transitions found in the layers of hills and plant life.

This original painting measures 5x7” and comes in a white mat that brings the overall size of the piece to a standard 8x10”. It was created using watercolor paint on acid free, hot press 100% cotton 140 lb. Arches watercolor paper and painted entirely while on location at my booth at the 2022 Laguna Art-A-Fair.
